Photoshop Tutorial: Sketch Coloring
I made a google image search for some sketch-image, because that's the type of image I like to colorize.
This is the image I'm going to use:
Make a new layer, select the brush tool, pick a color and set the blend mode of the layer to 'Multiply'
Start painting one thing that's going to be in the same color, for example: face, hair or the shirt.
When you're done with that, make a new layer and colorize another thing, here's my progress:
The image looks boring because there's no effects on it. We are now going to use the two tools: 'Color Dodge' and 'Burn Tool'.
'Color Dodge' makes a color lighter:
'Burn Tool' make a color darker:
Click on the 'Burn Tool' and select a pretty big brush size (I used 100 in the example). Start painting the image darker on the left side of the image. You should do this on all the layers you have. When you're done, it should look something like this:
Do the same thing with the 'Color Dodge'-tool, but now make it lighter on the right side of the objects. When you're done, it should look something like this:
I choosed to click on the ereaser tool and erease some of the blue from the shirt. Here is my final result:
